Craig Twigg became the first ever double winner of the Outlaw Triathlon and Jenny Latham completed her first long distance triathlon to win the women’s event.
Twigg, who lives locally in Leicester, battled the rain and wind to win again against a quality field that included four of the previous five winners. His time of 8:50:56 was fifteen minutes faster than his winning time from last year.
He finished ahead of Nottingham doctor, Tom McGlashan, who started the day hoping to finish in the top ten and surpassed his own expectations. Third place went to Mark Livesey.
Yorkshire-woman Jenny Latham finished ahead of Leicester’s Claire Shea-Simonds. Her winning time of 9:55:59 marked a fine debut where she led from start to finish in the women’s race. Maree Jesson was third. » Read more…

We are pleased to launch a new Future Outlaws event, taking place during the Outlaw event weekend in Nottingham on 25 July.
Open to kids aged 11-15 the emphasis is on taking part, and experiencing triathlon possibly for the first time. Young competitors will use the same swim start and exit points as the Outlaw competitors, use the cycle and run on the same course and cross the same finishing line. The distances are a 200m swim, 5km bike and 1500m run. Every competitor will receive a silicon Future Outlaw blueseventy swim hat, unique Future Outlaw race number set and bespoke Future Outlaw medal to wear with pride, and the emphasis is on taking part and enjoying the experience.
This is the first time we’ve put a junior triathlon on at the Outlaw, and it’s based on a lot of people having asked us to do something for the kids. We hope that Outlaws of the future will enjoy being the first to cross the finishing line during the weekend.
