Defending winners return as thousands take on Saucony Cambridge Half Marathon

Next weekend’s Saucony Cambridge Half Marathon (8 March) features 4,500 runners including the returning champions, Vicky Knight (Cambridge & Coleridge AC) and Aaron Scott (Notts AC).

The field features a high standard of club runners alongside fun runners and Cancer Research UK charity fundraisers. Knight won last March in a time of 1hour 17:43, whist Scott made an early impression and maintained a lead throughout the race to win the men’s title in 1hour 06:34. Clumber Park Duathlon – 900 entries gone!

Clumber Park - Transition AreaClumber Park Duathlon on Saturday 21 March has now reached over 900 entries. The standard distance event, which is also doubling up as the British Championships has fewer than 100 entries available.

We recommend those wanting to be sure of a place in either the sprint 5k run, 20k bike, 2.5k run or the standard distance / British Championships 10k, 40k, 5k get their entries in quickly to avoid disappointment.

Mud N Madness – Provisonal Results

Mud N Madness - Rope bridgeCongratulations to all of those that completed the ‘toughest’ Mud N Madness yet. Despite 14 very new & challenging obsticals, all designed to either stop, slow down & get everyone very muddy – over 500 completed the 8.5k course.

A provisional set of results are both the adult and junior events are on the main event page – see the yellow highlighted boxes on the right of the page.

Date Changes

Date ChangeDue to a clash of events, we have now exchanged the dates of the David Lloyd Lincoln Triathlon and Southwell Triathlon.

The David Lloyd Lincoln Triathlon, based at the David Lloyd Health & Fitness, Burton Waters will now take place on Sunday 3 May. And the Southwell Triathlon, Southwell Leisure Centre will now take place on Sunday 19 April.

Competitors that have already entered these events have been sent an email & have the option to change events or receive a refund.

The Midland Series will now start with the Southwell Triathlon followed by the David Lloyd Lincoln Triathlon and finishing with the Woodhall Spa Triathlon in June.

We aim to rasie £1Million for Cancer Research

Cancer Research Logo - SmallWe are very pleased to confirm our three-year partnership with Cancer Research UK has raised nearly £700,000 for the charity, and we now hope to reach the £1million milestone by the end of 2015.

Our key fundraising events are the Saucony Cambridge Half Marathon and Nottingham’s Outlaw Triathlon, but there has also been a significant contribution from novice events.

The Saucony Cambridge Half Marathon takes place on 8 March and has a sizeable number of committed fundraisers already. Last year’s event raised over £165,000, the highest total since the event was first launched in 2012, and it is hope that the 2015 event can challenge this total. » Read more…

Mud N Madness – NO price increase Sunday 1 Feb

Mud N Madness - friends Fancy some fun with your mates? Mud N Madness, 0ur filthy fun event is just 6 days away now but discounted entries are still available at the moment. The entry fee was planned to increase on Sunday 1 February but we have decided to continue the current fee until Monday.

We have finalised a few new sections to the course for 2015…we can’t wait for the final challenge of ‘burn burn burn’  – we have listened after the feedback that is was cold last year so you don’t need to worry about being cold!

Clumber Park Duathlon – 300 places left

Clumber Duathlon Runner - FemaleThe Clumber Park Duathlon takes place in a little under two months on Saturday 21 March. Over 700 competitors have already signed up, but it’s not too late to join them or get your friends to join in! The good news is that we’re still taking entries and there’s still plenty of time left to train.

The standard distance event doubles as the British Duathlon Championships so competitors can win national Age-Group titles, both sprint and standard distance act as qualification events for 2015 World Championships & 2016 European Championships! However, it’s not just about the fastest competitors, there are always plenty of novices too, and people competing in teams of three as a relay. There’s still time to enter ahead of the event on 7 February at Stubbers Adventure Centre in Upminster, Essex. If you’re fit enough to cover around 8km of running and are up for a bit of fun then this could be your sort of event.
