Lakeside Triathlon

Following extensive work with our event partner Triathlon Racing Inc, the superb venue - Lakeside, Thurrock Council and the local police authorities we are pleased to announce our first new event in 2010! The Lakeside Triathlon will offer a truly unique opportunity to race within the grounds of one of Europe's largest shopping centres.

The open water Sprint triathlon event will start with a 750 metre swim in Lakeside's beautiful Alexandra Lake, which is overlooked by numerous spectator viewing areas, bars, cafes, restaurants and of course shops!

The cycle section is made up of a very simple 2 looped 10KM course which will have police support at all major junctions to try to offer cyclists priority over other road users. Check out the race map and information for full details about the course!

The run route, will be a looped course on a closed internal road within the grounds of Lakeside Shopping Centre. Lapping up and down is great, seeing all of the other athletes competing and giving an opportunity for spectators to support you.

As part of your preparation why not get some coaching tips from Jodie Swallow - the Great British athlete is the official coaching partner of the Lakeside Triathlon, she will be offering coaching tips as well as heading up coaching days at the event venue - in the lead up to the event, to find out more 'follow the swallow' at www.ifollowtheswallow.com.

In Year 1 spaces in the event will be limited to 500 so make sure you get in quick, don't miss out on this exciting new event!
