Outlaw 15 - Pre registration re-opens

We have re-opened pre registration for the Outlaw 2015. Please register your details in order to get 24 hour prior when the Outlaw 2015 event entries go live on Tuesday 2 September.

Registering does not commit you to taking part or guarantee you a slot, but it does give you a head start in the race to register. The Outlaw Half 2015 sold out in less than 5 hours.

We will be combining the details of those who pre register with the competitors from the previous 5 Outlaws, 2 Outlaw Half events, plus those who pre registered at the end of July. However following the difficulties we experienced with the launch of Outlaw Half 2015, we are recommending that you resubmit your details, especially if your email address has changed. Twigg and Bosman win Outlaw 2014

On another baking hot Outlaw day, local athletes triumphed in front of the biggest crowds ever seen at the National Water Sports Centre in Nottingham. Craig Twigg from Leicester and Jenny Bosman from Newark were the winners.

Craig Twigg was the first to cross the line in a stunning time of 9hours 03:32. A very strong swimmer, Twigg led the race almost from start to finish to cross the line two and a half minutes ahead of second placed Phil Mosely.

Jenny Bosman wasn’t in the top five after the swim or bike, but moved up very quickly on the run. Bosman took the lead just over half way through the run and held on to it ahead of Hannah Peel in second (10:58:29).

The winning relay team completed the course in an impressive 8hours 18:27. The trio represented the Karen Green Foundation in memory of the Nottingham mother who died of Leukaemia in 2012. » Read more…

Outlaws - take on the heat

The Outlaw returns this Sunday, 27 July. Taking place for the fifth time, we have over 1100 athletes from all over the world taking on the 2.4mile swim, 112mile bike ride and 26.2mile run.

The event starts at the National Water Sports Centre in Nottingham at 6am on Sunday. The relatively flat and fast bike ride is focused around a cheering point at the Royal Oak Pub in Car Colston, but also does a loop around Southwell. All cyclists must be back at the National Water Sports Centre by 4pm in order to start the marathon run along the river Trent path.

The fastest competitors are expected to finish in front of the grand stand seating at the Water Sports Centre before 3pm. With several athletes already having broken nine hours at previous events, the competition for the men’s title will be tough. Key contenders seem to be Tom Vickery, Karl Alexander, Craig Twigg and Kyle Follett. » Read more…
