Here at the One Step Beyond web site you can find information regarding both our and Pace Setters Events races taking place in 2009. You can enter a whole range of multi sports events (online entries processed at Pace Setter Events), starting with the Saucony 10K at the TCR Show, Sandown Park in February, all the way through to the Robin Hood Adventure Challenge, Sherwood Pines in October.
Between these races are an excellent award winning range of events for both new comers and the most experienced athletes.
The calendar includes The Clumber Classic Duathlon in March - two distance options, sprint or standard - whilst the OSB Sprint Triathlon Series starts slightly earlier this year in April. This series, a four race series of pool based sprint triathlons around the East Midlands, is a great introduction into triathlon for novices or an excellent opportunity to test your early season fitness over some short sprint distance events.
We then move to South Yorkshire with the Rother Valley Triathlon Festival supported by Wrigley’s Airwaves. A weekend for ALL the family, with events for 5 years to 75 year olds, as well as incorporating the Corus British Disabled Triathlon Championships. Next it is the legendary Dambuster Triathlon, our first visit of the year to the beautiful Rutland Water, Leicestershire, an early opportunity to get some course practice in for The Vitruvian.
Later than usual on 22nd August the Club Relays is back with over 1800 competitors, from nearly 100 different clubs all racing around the closed road circuit followed by the Nottingham Sprint Triathlon, the following day raced over the same excellent spectator friendly venue.
Having won 220 Triathlon Magazine’s “Event of the Year” September sees the return of the iconic Vitruvian Triathlon demand is very high so you need to entre now to avoid disappointment.
Closing the triathlon season is the Esendex Last Minute Sprint Triathlon, an end of season variation of our infamous Southwell Sprint Tri whilst the off road Robin Hood Adventure Challenge sees the end of the season withis a full day of fun for all the family, including the Evil Sherriff Off Road Duathlon, Robin Hood 10km, Maid Marian 5km or the Little John 2km.
We are really excited about our 2009 season, we have no doubt that it will be even bigger and better than ever before, please come and join in the fun. Demand for entries is expected to be high after most of 2008 events filled before the closing date.
