Reasons to Race the Outlaw
March 2, 2011
With twenty weeks to go until the Outlaw Triathlon, there is a number of limited edition Outlaw t-shirts up for grabs. Would-be Outlaw Triathletes entering during the month of March will not only beat the price increase, but also claim a shirt – first come first served before stocks run out! All entrants by the end of March will also see their names go into an overall prize draw for some Outlaw goodies.
The 2011 Outlaw will take place on 24 July at Holme Pierrepont National Water Sports Centre in Nottingham.
Here’s ten reasons why we think you should add your name to the entry list now!
- We were recently awarded 220 Triathlon Magazine’s Event of the Year, and came out on top a separate reader poll in the March 2011 issue as the long-distance event that most people (35%) would rather enter
- We received 99.4% customer satisfaction in 2010, impressive from a debut event!
- The entry fee is set at just £205 until the end of March (£250 for relays), making the Outlaw the UK’s cheapest long distance event
- There’s camping on site, and some great hotel and restaurant offers already available
- The course is undeniably fast, and extremely accurate! The Swim is easy to navigate (fast), the bike course has some short sharp climbs followed by long rolling descents (fast, but don’t overcook it!), and the run is completely flat with an aid station every couple of miles.
- The bike course is bling-friendly – if you love all things aero, you’ll love the Outlaw! So get the TT bike ready, tune up your disk wheel and polish that aero lid! But just remember, the legs need to be prepared as well – Joanna Swallow won on a road bike last year!
- We’ve done our best to make spectating easy! 11,000 people watched in 2010, and 8000 of those were at the finishing line during the day
- The Outlaw is beginner-friendly. A fast course also means an accessible course, which is ideal for first timers – around 30% of participants last year were doing their first ever long-distance event
- There’s a bar within metres of the finishing line (and plenty of other healthy post race refuelling options!)
- There are exactly 20 weeks to go, and there’s nothing else that will focus the mind like seeing your name on the start list!
Anyone entering during March will receive an e-mail asking what size t-shirt they would like. Just 50 limited edition shirts were produced for the TCR Show, all those remaining must go! New entrants, and all those already entered will also be entered into a separate prize draw to win an Outlaw goodie bag – draw at the end of March 2011 with winner to be informed in early April.

Will the bike route for the Outlaw have a special needs bag point.
Vaughan, yes there will be a SPECIAL NEEDS at one of the feed stations. Bags will need to be dropped off on the Saturday at the transition area. Hope that answers your question. Best regards, Iain.
