Saucony Cambridge Half Marathon 2016 | Vote for your Pacer
February 18, 2016
RESERVE
Vote on Facebook for your preferred pace!
*As long as Rob doesn’t have to step in and act as a reserve pacer, he is happy to take a group of people around Cambridge Half Marathon at an agreed pace, please comment on Facebook to tell us which pace (between 1hr 40 - 2hr 10) you would like!
We’ve been in touch with all of our brilliant pacers for the Saucony Cambridge Half Marathon 2016 as we wanted to find out a little bit more about the people who will be getting us to the finish line in time!
These are the people to stick with if you’re wanting to hit the 2 hour mark… Keep an eye out for the pacers who will be wearing a pacers t-shirt & a pacers flag!
PLEASE NOTE: Our Cambridge Half Marathon Pacers will be racing on chip times rather than gun time. This will ensure an accurate finish time for all runners wanting to run with the pacers.
Name: Rob Moir
Age: 50
Best half marathon time: 1:29:46
Favourite half marathon location: Cambridge of course! Actually I also like some of the European ones, which are usually slightly warmer, but not always.
When did you start running? I’ve run on and off since a child but I started being a regular runner and as a result increasing my frequency of running to more than once a week in 2007.
What or who got you into running? Coming home late from work every night and seeing people running outside in hi-viz gear clearly having a good time when I clearly wasn’t!
What advice would you give to someone running their first half marathon? Follow a training plan so you know you can get to the finish line and then go out and take in the experience of running your first half marathon, a great achievement. And don’t worry if you have a bad day, we all do from time to time. Just try again at another half marathon; I’m sure there must be others during the year!
