2011 Entries Are Open

Here we go, 2011 is approaching fast so it’s time to start hitting the training and entering some events to focus on over the wintery months. At One Step Beyond we have been working hard to introduce some exciting new projects & events, here is a taste of what’s happening:

Trips4Tri is a collaborative partnership between us, International Fitness Consultants Ltd, and Rasmus Henning. Trips4Tri is responsible for the provision of Travel services for individuals & groups of Triathletes and Multisports Athletes travelling to and from the sports resort of Playitas, in Fuerteventura - www.trips4tri.com. The resort is truly spectacular and ideal for those seeking state of the art facilities and of course the vital ingredient – winter sun!

Club Relays due to the ever increasing demands from Clubs wanting to take part in our longest running event at the spectacular spectator friendly National Water Sports Centre, Nottingham, the Club Relays will be restructured in 2011. For the first time the award winning event will be held across 2 days on the August 27 & 28. 2011 will see Mixed teams racing on Saturday morning, it will be the Females racing on Saturday afternoon, before the Men take to the track on Sunday morning.

Since launching our consultancy service Event in a Box in 2007 we have now organised over 50 events on behalf of other organisations. These range from the 2008-10 Corus Kids of Steel series’ to a Closed Road Town Centre event for 2,500 runners in Northampton. 2011 will see the introduction of a number of new projects which we will launch throughout the year.

Standing alone for the first time the Nottingham Triathlon will be taking place on the 14th May. As this event moves away from its big brother the Club Relays, the Nottingham Triathlon will offer 750 people the opportunity to race at the National Water Sports Centre. We will have 3 waves running throughout the day offering the opportunity to race on a completely closed circuit – perfect for novices and those looking to set a fast time!

The 2010 Outlaw event was a massive success and we have received numerous calls and emails from you regarding the 2011 event. To bring you up to speed the date has been confirmed as Sunday 24 July, but entries are not yet open. We are making some adjustments to the bike course for next year but our intention is that the Outlaw offers a course that is scenic, fast and accessible to a broad community of long distance athletes. We will also have the British Duathlon Championships, 4 pool swim sprints, a triathlon festival and an adventure challenge day. I think it is fair to say we have a good balance of events which hopefully offer something for everyone.
