What an excellent weekend of racing and for 99% of the athletes in warm & dry conditions. Following the very impressive racing we saw on Saturday with over 300 athletes taking part in various event including the Kids ‘Open Water’ Triathlon, Womens Super Sprint & Charity Triathlon, all within the safe confines of Rother Valley Country Park.
For Sundays ETU European 2012 Sprint Qualifier, blue skies greeted the 500 athletes. However, with a water temperture of 18.1′ & a testing bike course, it was not going to be an easy day for the would be Great Britain Age Group competitors. Fastest in the mens event was previous World Age Group Champion - Nick Dunn (Blueseventy TFN RT), winning by nearly 5 minutes. And in the womens event, Ironman Champion - Lou Collins won by a similar margin from club mate Verity Butler (TFN Tri Club).

Competitor number 738. Enjoyed the event on the day with usual great organisation but it seems from my computing my time that I’ve been given a 2 minute penalty. No warning given but assume it was on bike - what was this for?
This was my first ever triathlon and I absolutely loved it!! Many thanks to Tom my big cousin for taking me and encouraging me all the way!
After taking part in the Womens Super Spring event this year i just wanted to say what a great event this is. The organisers, marshals, volunteers, competitors, spectators all made it a brilliant experience. Thank you!
